We perform blood work, an EKG, blood pressure, body fat analysis, and take your personal medical history.

See the Clinician. You will see one of our Physicians or Nurse Practitioners for your first consultation. They will go over your test results and medical history with you and suggest one of our diets. They will also decide if you are a good candidate for weight loss medication. If so, it will be prescribed.

Weekly visits. They are not mandatory but we like to see you every week. You come in, we talk about your diet successes or problems, adjust the program and answer any questions you may have.

Semaglutide

Semaglutide (Brand name Ozempic/Wegovy) is an injectable medication which, when used in combination with diet and exercise, helps with blood sugar control, appetite control, and weight loss. Semaglutide is a long-term, safe weight loss supplement that is approved by the FDA when used with diet and exercise. The average weight loss, when coupled with lifestyle changes is 15% of body mass.

Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide (Brand name Mounjaro)  is an antidiabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Tirzepatide is administered once weekly through injection.  When used in combination with diet and exercise, Tirzepatide helps with blood sugar control, appetite control, and weight loss.

Participants taking Tirzepatide lost up to 52 lb. or 22% of body mass in its initial clinical trials.

Other Appetite Suppressants

Other appetite suppressants include Phentermine and Phendimetrazine. Appetite suppressants, like many other prescription drugs, work with chemicals called neurotransmitters in your brain.  

They actually stimulate your neuron bundles to release a particular group of neurotransmitters known as catecholamines, these include dopamine, epinephrine (formally known as adrenalin), and norepinephrine (noradrenalin).   

They signal a fight or flight response in your body which, in turn, puts a halt to the hunger signal. As a result, you lose your appetite because your brain does not receive the hunger message.  This is perhaps due to the effects on leptin levels in the brain.  

It is theorized that appetite suppressants can raise levels of leptin which signal satiety.  It is also theorized that increased levels of the catecholamines are partially responsible for halting another chemical messenger know as neuropeptide Y.  This chemical initiates eating, decreases energy expenditure, and increases fat storage.
